Culinary Arts Programs at Istanbul Okan University encompass academic programs, the Center for Culinary Arts, kitchens adn strategic partnerships with well-known establishments in the food and hospitality sector.
The Department of Gastronomy in the School of Applied Sciences offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Gastronomy. The department prepares students for managerial and executive position in the industry. Academic instructors and experienced professionals from the industry teach their classes in classrooms as well as the instructional dining room, O’Mutfak.
The Vocational School offers an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. This 2-year academic program prepares students to be chefs and cooks. In addition to academic courses, the program requires the students to obtain practical experience through laboratory kitchens and internships.
The Center for Culinary Arts at Istanbul Okan University was established with the mission to offer educational programs for local and world cuisine. Currently, the Center is using 1000-sq-m kitchen with 32 stations to offer several hobby classes to food enthousiasts in addition to professional certification programs.
